Where is your swimwear designed and made?

Our swimwear is proudly designed and made in the UK. As a London-based brand, we’ve chosen to manufacture locally to reduce our carbon footprint and support ethical and sustainable production practices.

What size range do you offer?

Leah Loves strives to be as inclusive as possible and we are currently offering an XS - XL size range. We want everyone to be a part of our sustainable swimwear brand and promise to increase our size range as we grow. We believe in body positivity and strive to make swimwear that fits and flatters every body shape.

Why is Leah Loves sustainable?

Our commitment to sustainability includes using recycled fabrics made from discarded ocean waste, such as fishing nets, and using eco-friendly packaging that is plastic-free wherever possible.

We are a London-based brand and conscious of our carbon footprint, which is why we chose to partner with an ethical, UK-based factory that shares our commitment to sustainability.

Can swimwear be sustainable?

We are committed to making our swimwear as sustainable as possible. We recognise that synthetic fabrics contribute to environmental issues, which is why we use recycled fabrics made from discarded ocean waste and fishing nets instead of virgin nylon. While we understand this isn’t the long-term solution, we are dedicated to transitioning to natural fabrics once they can provide the same level of durability, wearability, and functionality. Our goal is to reduce fashion waste by keeping clothing out of landfills and ensuring longevity.

Why should I choose sustainable swimwear?

It is no secret that fast fashion is destroying our planet. At Leah Loves we believe in protecting people and the planet which is why choosing sustainable swimwear helps reduce waste and pollution.

By supporting eco-friendly brands, you’re making a conscious decision to protect the planet and the people who make your swimwear.

What is the best sustainable swimwear fabric?

Our fabric is made from recycled nylon which is found in ocean waste and discarded fishing nets. It has a composition of 78% Recycled Polyamide (Nylon) 22% Elastane.

Each piece of swimwear is made with this double layered fabric to ensure:

  • Shape retention and muscle control meaning they will not go saggy over time.
  • They will not discolour as the fabric is chlorine and salt water resistant as well as suncream and oil resistant.
  • The swimwear will not pill or go bobbly with wear as the fabric is pilling resistant.
  • There is UV resistance.
  • Comfort and soft to the touch with 4 way stretch fabric.

How should I wash my swimwear?

To ensure longevity, we highly recommend hand washing your swimwear. Please follow these guidelines for the best care:

  1. Hand Wash (Recommended): Gently hand wash your swimwear in cold or lukewarm water with mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach, as they can damage the fabric.
  2. Machine Wash: If you choose to machine wash, place your swimwear in a mesh laundry bag to protect it. Wash on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and cold or lukewarm water (up to 40°C). Avoid fabric softeners, as they can degrade the material.
  3. Rinse Immediately: After each use, especially after swimming in saltwater or chlorine, rinse your swimwear thoroughly in clean water to remove any salt, chlorine, or sunscreen residues.
  4. Drying: Lay your swimwear flat to dry, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not tumble dry. Do not wring or twist your swimwear to remove excess water, as this can damage the fabric’s elasticity.
  5. Storage: Store your swimwear in a cool, dry place, and avoid folding or cramming it into tight spaces to preserve its shape.

Is your swimwear designed to last?

We know the frustration of having to buy a new bikini every holiday because fast fashion swimwear just doesn't last so our swimwear is designed with durability in mind, using high-quality, sustainable fabrics. We want our pieces to last beyond just one season, so you can feel good about investing in swimwear that stands the test of time.

What is your eco-friendly packaging?

We are committed to using eco-friendly packaging where possible which includes:

  • Recyclable cardboard shipping boxes.
  • Acid-free, recyclable tissue paper.
  • Plastic-free, recyclable and compostable stickers made with soy-based ink.
  • Plastic-free, compostable hygiene stickers.
  • Recyclable swing tags made from a blend of cotton and paper.

Can I recycle my swimwear when I am done with it?

We encourage recycling rather than putting your swimwear into landfill. Many of our products are made from recyclable materials, and we’re working hard to create a circular fashion model where our customers can return old pieces for recycling or repurposing.
